Zawiya (Mosque) of Abd El-Rahman Katkhuda

The Zawiya of Abd El-Rahman Katkhuda locates in El Darb El Ahmar where El-Megharbeleen Street joins Bawabet El-Metwalli Street. It was erected by the Mamluk Emir Abd El-Rahman Katkhuda who became the greatest patron of architecture in the Ottoman period. It is a small building that was devoted to prayer. Of special interest in this Zawiya are the round windows with wooden vestiges ornamenting the facade.
