The Mosque of El-Fakahani is 91 meters northward El Muiz Le din Allah Street. The mosque was firstly constructed by the Fatimid Sultan El Zahir in qq48 but most of this structure has been destroyed by the passage of time. The remaining parts of that original building are the beautifully ornamented doors with its Fatimid style of decoration and the handsome arabesque panels with their handsome leaf forms. In the Ottoman period, Emir Ahmed Katkhuda Mustahfizan El-Kharbotly reconstructed another mosque in the same place and designed it on the style of the congregational mosques of that time. He also established a Wikala, commercial center, next to the mosque but it was replaced recently by a modern buildings.
