The International Garden of Alexandria is a marvelous place for Egyptians and visitors seeking pure, healthy and fresh air among heavenly greenery out of this world. Designed by architect Muhsen Zahran in 1989, the park extends over 130 acres. It was once a marsh from which malodor ascended..
The garden was planted to get rid of this bad smell annoying travelers visiting the city of Alexandria. Later the marsh was inverted into green spaces to which people crawl daily. It comprises a central lake surrounded by pavilions, an open-air theatre, festival square, sports fields and playgrounds. Exposed at the park are some scale models of the most important marks of the city, such as models of Abd el Muneem Reyaad District, Stanly Beach and Pompey Column.
