Egypt is an impressive country that is worth visiting, so if you have not seen it yet, you need to know that you are missing a lot. It is a country of wealthy history and culture reflected through its marvelous ancient tourist attractions and buildings and exceptional Egyptian citizens. Your trip to Egypt will be full of several entertaining activities, including doing some shopping, getting involved in the vibrant nightlife with Egyptians who never sleep, having an interesting time on beaches, heading to touristic sites to find out more about the great history and a lot more. Therefore, you just need to pack your bag and know how to get your visa to travel to Egypt at once.

Egypt facilitates getting an entry visa by allowing tourists from several countries to obtain a visa upon arrival. In order to easily get your visa, you should have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months. You can also apply for your entry visa to Egypt by heading to an Egyptian consulate in your home country. Moreover, in case you are already in Egypt and wish to extend your visa to stay more days, you need to visit Mogamma building, which is situated at Tahrir Square in Cairo, and head to the Travel Documents, Immigration and Nationality Administration section.

In addition, you should know that two types of Egyptian visas are available. There are Residence visas for those who wish to stay for a long period for different purposes such as work, study or any other reason that does not include tourism. It is a visa for long-term stays, and thus you are allowed to choose between one or three or five-year residence visas. For the completion of the procedures of extracting a residence visa, you should hold first a valid entry visa to avoid the occurrence of any issues. You must know that only the rules and regulations set by the government of Egypt will determine who is eligible and which visa should you get.

The second type of visa is the Tourist Visa which is required for all tourists travelling to Egypt from all over the world. The tourist visa is valid for one month starting from the day of arriving at Egypt and can only be used for traveling within three months from the date of extraction. Do not forget that your passport must be valid for at least six months to easily get your entry visa. A Tourist visa could be a single entry visa or a multiple entry visa. You should be aware that a single entry visa is a one-time entry visa, therefore, if you leave the country under any circumstances and wish to return, you must apply for a new one. In addition, this visa can be renewed in case you think about extending your stay for tourism purposes, and to do so you should present your reasons for the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Egypt and wait for the approval.

You can get your entry visa upon arrival to Egypt by purchasing a stamp from the visa department placed in the hall of arrival at the airport, and then you will get your passport stamped and you will be able to easily enter Egypt to visit all the famous tourist destinations and have an enjoyable trip. Furthermore, visitors who possess a residence permit valid for one month and acquired by any of the GCC Members, which are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar, can attain a visa upon arrival. You have to make sure that the residence permit is valid for at least 6 months.

Citizens of some countries are permitted to enter Egypt without getting an entry visa upon arrival such as Hong Kong, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Macao, United Arab Emirates and Malaysia, in addition to Lebanon but under some specific conditions like arriving at Borg El Arab Airport in Alexandria or Sharm El-Sheikh Airport or Hurghada Airport. Other countries can also have a Visa-free entrance but under certain terms. For example, Algerian, Tunisian and Moroccan citizens who are 14 years old or less do not need a visa. Libyan females or inhabitants of Butnan District do not require a visa if they travel on Sundays or Mondays. Citizens from Sudan and South Sudan whose age is 50 and more or 16 and less or females are not required an entry visa along with Yemeni citizens starting from age 50 and above or age 16 and less or citizens travelling for medical issues. Moreover, granting free-visa entrance for Chinese citizens requires having a return ticket and hotel reservation besides providing some fees.

Furthermore, you can apply for your visa online instead of obtaining an entry visa upon arrival since the Egypt Electronic Visa is also available. All you have to do is enter the e-visa website, know the e-visa requirements, apply for it online and wait for the approval to facilitate entering the country comfortably as soon as you arrive without the need for getting a visa on arrival. Egypt allows granting an e-visa to around forty-one countries, including Canada, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Albania, Greece, Japan, Italy, Austria and others.
