This original gold pendant was found among the remaining treasures of the Tomb of Princess Mereret . This small pendent is designed in a similar way to that of the polished mother of pearl and is adorned with some semi-precious stones . The frame of the pendent is adorned with brightly colored floral paintings made of turquoise and lapis lazuli while the central part is made of carnelian . Lotus flower was usually used in the decoration of the Pharaonic pectorals since it was regarded as a symbol for resurrection .
