This unique gold collar portrays the major deities in ancient Egyptian mythology including Tueris , Isis , Horus and the udjat . This makes it one of the most admired gold works that was used as an accessory and an amulet as well and placed with the dead to make those deities help and protect him . The clasps of the necklace are designed as two hooks at the end of the bold plain thread . The pendants of the necklace depict many gods and goddesses including:
Goddess Tueris represented as a hybrid creature with lion's feet , human arms and crocodile tail and was responsible for protecting pregnant women . Goddess Isis , wife of Osiris and mother of Horus , is the second pendant in the collar and she is depicted sitting on the throne in her traditional posture . The third pendant depicts Horus , god-falcon , wearing the double crown as a sign for the unity of Egypt . The next pendant portrays Horus as a better molded falcon with feather inlays wearing the double crown too .
The fifth pendant is one of the typical postures of the pharaohs of the Late Period and known as the ba shaped as falcon god Horus with the face of the pharaoh and the two horns centered with the solar disk of Hathor . The sixth pectoral is shaped as a bird with the head of a man too , while the next one portrays the falcon god with the double crown over his head and finely ornamented falcon as well .
The eighth pectoral is shaped as a falcon with the red crown of Upper Egypt on his head . Next to it appears the pectoral with the Udjat or Horus eye that represents the healed eye of Horus that was severely injured during the war between horus and his uncle and Thuth cured it .
The last item in this necklace it the depiction of god Nefertum , symbol for the lotus plant that originated from the primeval water and the origin of the whole universe .
