This fine container was found in the Tomb of Psusennes I (the third king of the Twenty-first Dynasty) in the sepulcher of Amenemope (c . 990 BC) . Belonging to Psusennes I , the jug was used in certain religious ceremonies in purification rites and in pouring libations for the revered gods . There is a spout fastened to the jug by three rivets . Below the spout are some Hieroglyphic carvings which read: "The perfect god , Usermaatra¬Setepenra , the Lord of the Two Lands , Amenemope-Meryamun , loved by Osiris-Sokar , Lord of Rosetau . "
