This original anklet was discovered in the Tomb of Mereret in Dahshur among many other jewels and girdles . It consists of two rows of small gold and amethyst beads and two talon-shaped pendants . This talon was placed in these items for protective purposes and there are numerous examples for it discovered in the Pharaonic tombs .
