Mahu was the Chief of Police of Akhetaten in the New Kingdom. Though small, his tomb is one of most complete tombs in the Tell El Amarne Area in El Menia. The entrance of the tomb is preceded by a flight of steps while the right wall of the entrance corridor is ornamented with depiction the royal family worshipping Aten and texts from the Hymns to Aten. The interior plan of the tomb encompasses two chambers with fascinating decorations the second one of them enclosing a false door and a flight of stairs leading to the room where the mummy shaft is placed.
