Giza is a governorate in the center of Egypt on the west bank of the Nile. It forms with Cairo and El Qalyubeya Governorate what is known as Greater Cairo. El Giza Governorate covers about 27, 564 km² and encloses about 9 administrative center, 11 city and a large number of districts and villages. It can be reached by plane since Giza is quite close to Cairo Airport and also Alexandria Airport. Thus most of the visitors of Egypt place Giza as the first station in their journey.

Giza Governorate is one of the most visited places in Egypt for the existence of a marvelous collection of Pharaonic monuments like the Sphinx, the tombs of the Royal Family, high officials and workmen. Abu El Numrus

 

Abu El Numrus is one of the cities of Giza Governorate on the western bank of the Nile. It encloses a wide range of agricultural lands and is renowned for trading in home appliances and some small industries that are regarded as the main source of income for the city.Some of the inhabitants of Abu El Nanras earn their living from trading in honey. Abu El Numrus is regarded now a part of 6th of October Governorate that was announced as a separte governorate in 2008 rather than Giza Governorate.

Atfih

Atfih (Atfeeh, Atfeyh) is one of the administrative centers of Giza Governorate on the western bank of the Nile opposit to El Ayyat Center. It is a city of a great history that was occupying a great history during the Ancient Egypt and in the Mamluk Period.

The city suffered a lot from floods that destroyed the major part of it and this made its importance decrease especially under the rule of Mohamed Ali.

El Ayat

El Ayat is one of the cities of 6th of October governorate in Egypt. It stands to the south of Cairo and its boundaries are El Fayoum governorate from the west, Nile River from the east, El Badrasheen from the north, and El Wasta Markaz in Beni Suef from the south. El Ayat comprises of about 39 villages such as kafr ammar and Bernisht. It is famous for its soap and oil factory and there are many other factories under construction in that area.

El Badrasheen

El Badrasheen is one of the cities of Giza Governorate that locates about 7km southward Cairo. It lies in a strategic position is bordered with Helwan City to the southand El Ayyat City to the west. It is a city of a great history since it is one of the oldest capitals in Egypt during the Fifth Dynasty. Nowadays it encloses a number of the important archeological sites such as Memphis, Saqqara, Dahshur, and Abusir.

In addition to that it encompasses a number of small cities and villages that are renowned for various crafts and industries. El Badrasheen is famous for furniture, oil, cloths, carpets and textile industries in addition to her resonating fame in the field of palm tree plantation. Moreover the city is regarded as one of the major commercial centers in Egypt that provides the local markets with most of its essential goods and needs and provides a full range of job opportunities for youth.

El Hawamdeya

El Hawamdeya is one of the cities of Giza Governorate on the western bank of the Nile. It is also an important industrial zone that is renowned for sugar, food, and steel industries that are regarded as its main economic resources. It encompasses a number of smaller villages such as Sheikh Uthman and it is the birthplace for the famous Egyptian football player Sabet El Batal.

 

 Mansheyet El Qanater

Mansheyet El Qanater is one of the cities of Giza Governorate on the western bank of the Nile. It comprises of some small towns and villages and is renowned for raising poultry and agriculture. It is one of the highly populated cities in Giza and its inhabitants suffer from the lack of some essential services including sanitation services.

Osim

 

 

Osim Administrative Center in the north side of Giza Governorate on the western bank of the Nile. It is one of the highly populated zones in Giza and encloses most of the governmental institutes in the governorate.
