The Bahariya Oasis flourished mostly in the Late and Roman Periods. The tomb is located in Karet es-Salim, near the cenotaph of Sheikh Soby, near the town of El Bawiti, in the Bahariya Oasis. This decorated tomb belongs to the official Djed-Khonsu-Ef-Ankh, who was the most powerful governor of Bahariya during the 26th Dynasty, in the New Kingdom. Inside the tomb, archeologists found a limestone sarcophagus, inside which an alabaster coffin that contained the mummy was discovered.
