Travel To Bizerte

Bizerte city is the capital of Bizerte Governorate and one of the important coasts and touristic cties in Tunisia. Thus it is finely linked with all the surrounding cities with all means of transportation. Additionally, the public transports within the city are decentralized in a way that makes there are three bus stations and three louage stations for serving all possible destinations. Travel to Bizert By Air Bizerte can be reached by air through Tunis-Carthage Airport that has a local office in Ave Habib Bourguiba. Travelers usually take the yellow buses from Tunis-Carthage International Airport. There are about 11 buses for traveling to Bizerte (half-hourly until 7 pm). There is a bus station in the airport that help the passangers in traveling to any city in Tunisia throughout the day. Travel by Bus in Binzert For traveling from Bizerte to Tunis, one can take buses from the Zarzouna Bus Station to reach the center of Tunis. To reach Tunis by bus there, one can take express buses from Bab Saadoun in northern Tunis from which TD 3 and 5 pass hourly by the city till 7 pm. There are also some nonexpress buses to Tunis that take Route National 8, pass every half hour and spend about 4 hours for reaching this destination.

At the southern end of Ibn Khaldoun, stands the Main Bus Station for STRB buses. Such buses travel to various destinations throughout Tunsia including: Ras El Jebel ( TD1, 7, seven daily), Menzel Bourguiab (TD 1, half-hourly), and Ain Draham Via Tabarja, Mateur( TD 8, every 2 hours). There are also some public transports for moving to Ghar el-Melh, Sejnane and Raf Raf (TD2, twice daily).

In Rue d'Alger, there is the SNTRI bus station for Long-haul buses. Destinations include, Kairouan (TD12, 3 , four hours , at 6am) , Jerba (TD23, 9 , 11 hours, at 6 am and 6 . 30pm) Sousse and Sfax.

Travel By Louages in Bizerte To travel Tunis from Bizerte, travelers can take Red-stripe louages that stand next to Zarzouna Bus Station. Travelers for Ras El Jebel usually take the blue-stripe louages from the Main station in Russie Street.

Blue louagees go to Mateur (TD2 . 2), blue and yellow-stripe louages go Sejnane (TD3 . 9) and Nefza and Tabarka , and Menzel Bourguiba (TD1 . 2) (one daily).

Getting Around Bizerte Most of the visitors of Bizerte enjoy getting around it and visiting most of its touristic places easily because they all are neighboring each other. The Ville Nouvelle or the new city; the commercial center of Bizerte where the indoor and outdoor market is held stretches from the shipping canal north to Ave Habib Bourguiba in the west. To the north, stands the old port, the Kasabah, Ksibah and the Ramparts.

The white local buses are usually available for transmitting people from a place to another within the city. For moving from ave de la Courniche, 3km northward the Kasbah, to Hassan El Nouri and Ave Habib Boutguiba, one can take the half-hourly buses 2 and 21. To reach the Remel Plage, one can take the white local bus 8 that passes every 15 minutes.
