Suez is a governorate in the east of Egypt. on the eastern bank of the Suez Canal and the Gulf of Suez of the Red Sea. It covers about 25,400km and its capital city bears the same name. It is bordered with Ismailia Governorate from the north, Red Sea from the south, South Sinai from the east, Cairo and Giza from the west. It is a place of a great history dating back to the ancient Egyptian times and religious value since it was one of the places where the Holy Family stopped at during their journey to Egypt. It comprises of five main districts including Suez and Feisal. The national day of the governorate is 24 of October that commemorates the great role of national resistance against the Israeli troops in 1973 war.
