The Military Museum is situated in 26th July St, in the city of Port Said. It was officially inaugurated in 1964. One can see some of the exhibits on the museum lawn, including equipment from the 1956 Suez Crisis and the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. The several interior halls of the museum house a collection of military ammunition and arms of the Arab-Israeli Wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973. It also contains some warlike objects as well as illustrations of the military history of this great city. It provides visitors with panoramic-like shows that depict the several battles fought by the Egyptian Army and the people of Port Said. Not only does the museum comprise numerous warlike tools and techniques, but it also has halls in which some elements of Pharaonic, Islamic and modern periods are exhibited. Also exposed are a collection of military/militaristic paintings, statues, scale models, captured war materials and bas-reliefs.
