Dating back to the New Kingdom, the design of the current huge Temple of Ramses II in Ehnasia is similar to that of the temples' plan of the kingdom. Inside this temple were found monuments bearing the name of King Ramses II and others. There are additions to the temple from the Twenty-third Dynasty. Also discovered was a temple from the Roman times as well as a necropolis from the Late Period, in which some statues, canopic jars, shabti and jewelry among other items were discovered.
