El Quseir is a coastal city in the Red Sea governorate, 205 kilometers south of Hurghada, 103 km north of Marsa Alam . It dates back to the Pharaonic period and in the Roman Era it was called Leucus Limen or the white Harbour. In the Arab rule it was regarded as one of the largest ports on the Red Sea that was used for transmitting pilgrims till the second half of the 19th century. Nowadays El Quseir lost its glory as a prominent harbour but is still one of the resorts that tourists enjoy visiting for its five star hotels and magnificent weather.
