The Gate or Bab El-Azab that situates in El-Qalaa off Salah El-Deen Square was attached by Sultan Radwan Katkhuda to the Citadel. It was used as an entrance for the infantry or Azaban who were living in the lower part of the Citadel. Few meters away from this gate one can see the Mausoleum of Qansuh Abu Said that he established in 1499 when he was an Emir. After being the Sultan, Qansuh erected another more luxurious tomb in the North Cemetery in which he was buried. On the other side of the street, facing this mausoleum stands Zawiyat Hasan El-Rumy which appears as an ordinary and simply decorated building that dates from 1522.
