The Mosque of Marzuq El-Ahmady lies in Bab El-Nasr street next to the Mosque of Mahmoud Muharram . It was erected by Marzouq El-Ahmadi in the Ottoman Period. He was one of the prominent followers of the Sufis saint Ahmed El-Badawy who died in 1265 after living about 65 years in Egypt. El-Badawy became fanmous because of his strong opposition and movilization of people against the Crusades. A mosque and a tomb in Tanta that are still visited by a large number of people are dedicated to him. Nearby the entrance of the mosque stands a small tomb for the Marzuq El-Ahmadi and his friend Mahmud Shams El-Din who was another follower of El-Badawy.
