The Mosque of Aytmish El-Bagasi lies in a side street near Bab El- Wazir Street. It was erected by Prince Aytmish El-Bagasi who was the regent of the Mamluk Sultan Farag Ibn Barquq. There is a Sabil- Kuttab on the north side of the Façade. The entrance of the Mosque is handsomely decorated with beautifully shaped leaf patterns and a ribbed dome. The decoration of the façade expounds some of the characteristics of decoration style that had been commonly used late the 13th century. Around the Mosque appears a group of buildings that date from Mohamed Ali period.
