The uraeus serpent is a prominent royal insignia in ancient Egypt that was ornamenting the forehead of the royal family members . It represents Uadjet goddess who was supposed to protect the king from the evil forces .

This gold uraeus serpent was discovered among the treasures of the pyramid of Senusret II and is highly admired for the brightly colored inlays of precious stones over it .
