The Funeral of Alexander the Great
Ptolemy I
succeeded in making a deal with the officer in charge of the funeral of Alexander the Great . He bribed this officer and told him that he would meet him to the south of Damascus and by then the funeral procession of
Alexander III
deviated towards Egypt . When the funeral reached Egypt , Alexander III was buried at
Memphis
then he was moved to
Alexandria
where his tomb was ready .
