Suez City

Suez City is the capital of the Suez Governorate that is regarded as one of the major ports in Egypt . It locates on the southern terminus of the Suez Canal and bordered with Ismailiya Governorate from the north , the Red Sea from the south , Cairo and Giza from the west . In the vicinity of the city stand two important free zones in Suez Governorate which are Port Ibrahim and Port Tawfik . In the past , the city was considered an important transition camp for the pilgrims to Mecca , and was renowned for aromatic spices trade . The city suffered a great deal of destruction during the Arab-Israeli wars of 1956 , 1967 and 1973 . However , it managed to restore its glory and became a prosperous city . Nowadays it is one of the major harbors in the whole world that supports about 10%of the whole world's trade . The main economic resources for the city are driven from the logistic industry , Petrol exporting , the petrochemical industries as well as the different services .
