This statue depicts the Pharaoh Ramsses II as a child setting in the protection of the falcon god Horus . The pharaoh is depicted in the typical way of children in ancient Egypt as a naked boy with a long plait falling onto his right shoulder and his finger in his mouth as a sign for innocent . In spite of that , he is wearing a cap with the uraeus serpent on his forehead to distinguish the royal family members .



Horus is depicted in in a stylized manner as a falcon with a limestone face and holding the king with his wings . The king sets with the solar disk over the head and some hieroglyphic inscriptions on the base of the statuary group representing the Horus name of the king which is Ra­-mes-su .
