Sers El Laian is one of the major cities in El Menoufeya Governorate located between Menouf and El Bagour cities . It locates about 60km away from
Cairo
and about 20 km away from Shebin El Kom city . It encloses a wide range of agricultural lands and is famous for some traditional crops such as wheat , rice and cotton in addition to some vegetables like cucumber and this is the reason for calling it in that name which means center of planting cucumber . The most important places in the city are El Arabaeen mosque , Al-Kurdi Mosque , and Abu El Rous Mosque . The major economic resources for the city are agriculture , and some industries such as rice mills , glass manufactures and other food industries . The government pays a great attention to the city and works hard for providing inhabitants with all essential services of water supply , health care services and education .
