Ramssess II was one of the sovereign monarchs in the New Kingdom who ruled in the period from 1279 till 1212 and achieved victory in numerous battles . There are many fragments and paintings depicting him massacring his enemies .

This slab portrays the pharaoh in the traditional way of a king massacring his enemies similar to that of Narmer torturing his enemies . Ramsses II appears wearing the blue crown , short shendit , sandals and larg necklace around his neck . The pharaoh is advanced with his right leg a step forward , holding an ax in his right hand and three of his enemies in the other one . The facial features and hair styles of the three men indicate that they belong to three different peoples: the Nubians , the Libyans , and the Syrians .
