This luxuriously decorated necklace was discovered among the other attractive gold works in El Kharga Oasis in the archaeological site that was used as a cult for Isis and Serapis . The collar consists of a thick circular thread with a large number of pendants connected to it with small rings and the clasp is shaped as a snake . All the pendants are similarly decorated with paintings for goddess Isis , wife of Osiris and mother of Horus , and Serapis , represented as the Bull Apis . The central pendant of the collar are larger than the other ones and is adorned with the bust of Serapis as a man with curly beard and flowing locks as a symbol for fertility .
