This necklace was found in the Tomb of Psusennes I , Crypt of Psusennes I , in Tanis . Denoting a high taste , the item was decorated with gold; red and green jasper; black , red , and blue glass; and green feldspar chain . It consists of a pectoral and a double-stringed chain that ends with a counterpoise in the form of an upturned lotus flower . Measuring 10 . 5 cm in height and 12 . 5 cm in width , the pendant is shaped on a scarab with wings ornamented with multi-colored stripes topped by a horizontal cartouche bearing the King's name .
The rear flat part of the insect is inscribed with the text of Chapter 30 of the Book of the Dead which reads: "Osiris-King Psusennes says , Oh my heart of my mother , my heart of my transformations , do not rise up in evidence against me , do not oppose me before the tribunal , show no hostility towards me before the guardians of the scale , because you are the soul of my body . " The scarab's back legs hold the Shen sign , the symbol of eternity .
