This necklace was found by archeologist Pierre Montet in 1940 in the Tomb of Psusennes I , in the crypt of Psusennes I in Tanis . This piece of jewelry was dedicated to the gods of Assur by a high Assyrian dignitary for the life of his oldest daughter . Decorated with lapis lazuli , gold , and beads , the item contains two strings of balls fastened at the ends with small gold clasps carved with a cartouche bearing the name of Psusennes I . The balls are made from lapis lazuli with only two in the center made from gold .
