This make up spoon was found within the remains of a village in Fayum inhabited during the Eighteenth Dynasty . Evidently , inhabitants at this village had led a prosperous and luxurious life and used excessive sophisticated objects and items of everyday body care . This spoon is modeled into a handle shaped into a naked slim female swimmer and a make-up powder container in the form of a duck . The duck's wings (now missing) served as the spoon's cover . Carved in minute elaborate detail , the object is a witness of the skillfulness and creativity of the craftsmen of the New Kingdom .
