This collection of quartzite heads belong to the daughters of Akhenaten and was discovered in the the workshop of the Chief sculptor Thuturose , in Tel El Amarna . The princesses are depicted in an odd way with unnaturally lengthened that is believed to be a natural depiction for the head of the daughters who were suffering from dolichocephalism , but some Egyptologists negotiate that it was just an artistic view of the sculptor .

One of these heads is larger than the other two heads and is supposed to be the head of Meritaten , the daughter of Akhenaten and the wife of Smenkhkara , and the join at the neck suggests that the head was to be joined to a torso , sculpted separately , as part of a composite statue . The facial features of all the princesses are depicted typically with heavily made up almond-shaped eyes , fleshy lips , small face and nose , and sticking out ears .
