Tomb of Ahmose, son of Ibana



Ahmose, son of Abana, was an officer and Captain of Sailors in the Egyptian army during the end of the Seventeenth Dynasty (the Second Intermediate period) and the beginning of the Eighteenth Dynasty (the New Kingdom). His father served also as an officer in the army of Seqen-En-Ra Taa II participating in the war against the Hyksos. The son, Ahmose, was also was prominent in the wars of liberation against the Hyksos rulers serving under the rules of Seqen-En-Re Taa II, Kamose, Ahmose I and Thutmosis I. Ahmose registered his biography in paintings on the walls of his tomb beside the traditional scenes of a deceased accompanied by his wife and other scenes of offerings.
