South Sinai

      South Sinai Governorate stretches from Taba (on the Gulf of Aqaba) to the north of Al-Tih Plateau following up Ras Masallah (on the Gulf of Suez) and ending up at Ras Mohammad (south). Its capital city is the El-Tor, which is located on the Gulf of Suez, 400 km far from Cairo. On its land, stands the highest of all mountains of Egypt, the Mount of Saint Catherine, which measures 2637 m in height. The main economic resources of South Sinai are driven from the quarries, petroleum extraction industry, in addition to tourism.
