The Mosque of Sidi Ibrahim El Dessouky (Dissouqi) is one of the remarkable landmarks and stop-overs in the city of Desouq, in the Governorate of Kafr El Sheikh. This grand Islamic monument was erected by the Muslim hermit Sidi Ibrahim El Dessouky (Desouqqi). The mosque is said to be one of the ten biggest mosques in the world. Its foundation took many stages. El Dessouky was buried in retreat which lies next to a Zaweyah (small mosque) built by Sultan Khalil Qalawun. Under the reign of Sultan Qaietbay, the mosque was enlarged and a mausoleum proper to the revered hermit was erected.
