El Shohada is one of the administrative centers in El Menoufiya Governorate bordered with Shebin El Kom City from the west, and Tala from the east. It is known for that name because a large number of the Muslim leaders and warriors in the Muslim army who invaded the city for spreading Islam in it lost their life in their war against the Roman rulers of the city. It comprises of some cities and villages and encloses a number of monuments like the Mosque of Sidi Mohamed Shebl El Aswad, one of the martyrs. The main economic resources for the village are agriculture and food industry.
