El Mansura City is the capital of El Dakahlia Governorate on the eastern bank of Damietta Branch of the Nile and about 120 km away from Cairo. The city was called in that name which means the victorious because it was established by El Adel, Saladin brother, for celebrating the victory of Egyptian troops over the troops of Louis IX of France, during the Seventh Crusade.
