Baltim is an administrative center in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate and one of the prominent summer resorts in Egypt. It locates on the north side of Kafr El Sheikh bordered with El Hamul and El Burullus Lakes from the west and El Dakahliya Governorate from the east. It comprises of a number of smaller towns and villages. The main economic resources of the city are Fishing, trade and industry since it is regarded as the one of the important industrial zones in the governorate.
Baltim is a city of a great history that dates back to ancient Egyptian times and there are numerous remains from that Ptolemaic Period. Interestingly, there are some remains of one of the battles of Ahmed Orabi and Egyptian troops against the British troops on the lighthouse beach in Baltim.
