Ashmoun is one of the administrative centers of El Menoufiya Governorate that is bordered with El Qalyoubia from the east, Giza from the west, Menouf and El Bagour cities from the north, and El Qanater El Khairia from the south. It is a densely populated area that is renowned for handmade carpet industry, and textile ginning that are regarded as the main source of income for most of the inhabitants.
