This necklace was found in a hidden place in the Tomb of Sathathor , daughter of Senusret II , in the funerary complex of Senusret III at Dahshur . This necklace is distinguished by the knotted lotus flower in the center that was usually ornamenting ancient Egyptian funerary objects as a means of decoration and protection as well . This lotus pectoral , symbol for resurrection , is made of gold inlaid with brightly colored carnelian , turquoise , and lapis lazuli . The necklace itself is made of small gold beads similar to those of the necklaces of Princess Khnumit . Between the two lotus stems appear a beautiful sistrum with the image of Bat , goddess of seventh Nome of Egypt , with human head , and cow's ears and horns .
