El Hawamdeya is one of the cities of
Giza Governorate
on the western bank of the Nile . It is also an important industrial zone that is renowned for sugar , food , and steel industries that are regarded as its main economic resources . It encompasses a number of smaller villages such as Sheikh Uthman and it is the birthplace for the famous Egyptian football player Sabet El Batal .
