This attractive earring was wrapped in the mummy of a woman from the royal family buried in a sarcophagus below the Temple of Osiris at Abydos . The earring is adorned with the cartouche of Ramsses XI , fiver uraeus serpents carrying convex disks carrying the solar disk and lunar disks . All these motifs made it certain that the mummy belongs to a member of the royal family .
The upper part of the earring is decorated with five cobras the central one is carrying the solar disk flanked by two cobras with lunar disks while the latest two are wearing tiara with long plume on either side . Beneath this group of cobras appears the winged solar disk as a symbol for the sun god .
