The treasures of Middle Kingdom include a large number of gold works with attractive style and most of it were placed in the tombs of princesses and queens . This diadem is regarded as a good example for the diadems of that period with its floral paintings and precious and semi-precious stones used for decoration .
The diadem of Princess Khnumit , daughter of Amenemhat II , was discovered in her tomb in Dahshur . It is shaped as a gold band with attractive and brightly colored floral patterns that was usually placed over the wig . In the center of the front of the diadem is adorned with a horizontal element adorned with gold with inlays of semi-precious stones and glass paste . There were eight other diadems with similar style found in other tombs from the Middle Kingdom
