Desouq is a small city in
Kafr El Sheikh Governorate
on the Delta of
Egypt
about 80 km away from Cairo . The city is renowned for encompassing the mosque where the Muslim hermit of the 7th century , Sidi Ibrahim El Desouqi , is buried . It comprises of a number of small towns and villages and the major part of its inhabitants earn their living from functioning in some handcrafts and trading in handmade works and car spare parts of cars and so .
In the vicinity of Desouq , the remains of ancient Buto , a prehistoric capital of the north of Egypt , are found . Desouq also was the capital of the Hyksos , who invaded Egypt in 1750 BC .
