Dahshur is a necropolis situated 11 km to the south of
Saqqara
in
Giza
Governorate . It contains the first true pyramid in Egypt , the northern Pyramid of Sneferu , founder of the Fourth Dynasty . Within its limits , the site also includes the
Bent Pyramid
of Sneferu , the Pyramid of Amenemhat II , the Pyramid of Senusert III , and the Pyramid of Amenemhat III . This makes tourism one of the main economic resources for the city .
