Ahmes was the establisher of 18th Dynasty and the conqueror of the Hyksos . He was the son of Queen Ahhotep and the brother of Kames who played a great important role in the war of liberation .

This refined and richly decorated dagger was discovered in the Tomb of Ahmes . It has a gold blade adorned with two cartouches of the king followed by a floral motif which terminates at the tip on one side with a fox's head , and on the other with a hunting scene . The grip is made of cedar wood and is liked with the blade with two relief bulls' heads . The sheath of the dagger is made of gold without any decorations .
