This statue of Tutankhamun was found with another typical statue in the transversal hypostyle room in the Temple of Ay . The statue portrays the pharaoh wearing the double crown and the ribbed nemes headdress with uraeus serpent on his forehead and a false beard as a sign of royalty . The pleated shendit of the king is praise worthy for the falcon's head is inserted in his skirt .
The pharaoh is depicted in the customary pose of advancing with his left leg . He wears the double crown (of which only the base remains) and the nemes headdress still faintly colored yellow and blue and a large seven-string necklace . His arms , legs , crown , part of the rear support , nemes , and right shoulder are all fragmentary but traces of polychrome can still be made out on the king's face .
The statue reflects some features of Amarna style of sculpture including: the slightly swollen stomach , the narrow eyes edged by a thick line , and the fleshy lips .
