These two gold clasps were discovered in the tomb of Princess Khnumit , the daughter of Amenemhat II . These clasps were mainly used for fastening two gold bracelets made of gold and some semi-precious stones . These pieces are made of lapis lazuli inlaid with turquoise and carnelian and the upper part of the ankh-shaped clasps is adorned with a gold leopard head . This shape represents the "Sa"; a hieroglyphic sign means protection . It is the sign that mat used to protect the shepherds from bad weather this is accentuated by the image of Mat that is depicted on the back of the clasps .
