These are two of the numerous attractive gold works that were discovered in the archaeological site of Tell Basta . This site was once the cult for goddess Bastet who is usually portrayed as a woman with cat's head .

These twin gold bracelets are supposed to be dedicated by King Rameses II , whose cartouches are carved on them , for goddess Bastet . They are made of gold with magnificent geometrically patterned ornaments and lapis lazuli that forms the body of the ducks . Of special interest in these bracelets is their design as two semi circles connected by a hinge and a clip and adorned with a depiction of a double-headed duck .
