The treasures of Middle Kingdom in the Egyptian Museum include a large number of gold works with attractive style and most of they were placed in the tombs of princesses and queens . These bracelets were discovered in the Tomb of Princess Khnumit , daughter of Amenemhat II , at Dahshur . They were carefully kept in a space in the wall of the tomb and this protected them from being robbed by thieves .

This collection clarifies the great skill of ancient Egyptian jewelers . It is shaped as a string of gold with magnificent fasteners in the form of hieroglyphic signs . Such pieces were used as decorative items as well as protective means for its wearer . This is clear in these bracelets since the signs on one of the fasteners can read as "all protection and life" , the second as "birth" , while the third means "joy" .
