Belqas is a city in

Governorate that covers about 46 , 00 km² and comprises of a number of smaller towns and villages . The main economic resources of the city are driven from agriculture as well as food and natural gas industries . The city encloses some tourist attractions that is highly admired by tourists and Egyptian Christians alike which is the Coptic Orthodox Monastery of Saint Demiana . This Monastery dates back to the 4th century and encloses five churches and a mausoleum for the bishops and priests and the anniversary of Saint Demiana birthday takes place in May .
