The City of Alexandria is considered the second largest city in
Egypt
and one of the major harbors in Egypt . It is the capital of Alexandria Gorvenrorate with more than 3 millions inhabitants . It lies in the north of the country , about 225 km from Cairo . The importance of Alexandria is not attriuted only to being one of the popular tourist attraction in Egypt but also due to its great role in transportation since its prot transports about 80% of Egypt foreign trade . Additionally , with its oil refinery , Alexandria is the terminal of the pipeline Suez-Cairo-Alexandria .
